Travel Machine

Hey all,

Does anyone have a travel (small/portable) machine they are happy with and would recommend? I have no special requirements in terms of higher pressures etc. I don't care if I can pull data off of it. I currently have an S9 for home and would prefer to use the same type of mask (Swift FX) if possible. Typically, when we travel it is to warmer/humid locations so I don't need a humidifier.

Looking at the AirMini, but I'm concerned about noise compaints. Being "quiet" is probably my most important requirement, otherwise it would be perfect. Am considering the AirMini and building my own "conversion" tube so I can use my own Swift FX mask (though I don't know if this is of concern yet).

Thoughts?

Take your S9 without the humidifier. You won't find anything much smaller than that anyway. And you already sleep well with it.

I have a spare S9 that I use as my travel machine. I use the humdifier, but even so, it is not that big, and I know I am used to how it sounds, how it works, etc.

Hi- I just got a Dreamstation GO travel machine, with the battery. I also have an S9. If you do not need a battery, I would recommend using your S9 without the humidifier.
Because the S9 without the humidifier is the same size as the GO without it's battery attached.
The GO is louder than the S9, enough that it disturbed my sleep. The GO's neat little hose is quite an improvement for traveling over a slimline hose, but it's not enough to make or break my recommendation of the S9 over the GO.
IF you need a battery, the GO with the battery is a good choice. (I got it for an overseas flight, so I needed the battery). The GO will have a humidifier available in the future.

If you want a really small machine, the AirMini looks to be smaller than the GO.
I believe there was someone on here trying to sell an AirMini about a week ago- look back thru the old posts.

Unless you are a student traveling Europe with a backpack, I think you will be happier just having your S9 without the humidifier. It's quiet. If you need battery backup, then a travel sized machine makes a lot more sense.

This question is something I wonder about. My S10 comes with a really handy travel bag. I bought an adapter for the end for about $15 that I take with me when I travel (so do not have to take the humidifier). The small bag holds everything I need and I have my regular machine that I trust when I travel. I cannot imagine that a "travel machine" with the power cord, hosing, mask, etc is really that much smaller than the travel bag provided with the S10.

I do not know all the sizing of the S9 or some other models and maybe that makes a difference but I find it hard to imagine paying the same price for a travel machine as it would cost for another S10 (or close to it).

I think it is more cuz its not covered by insurance nor are any of the consumable supplies. It's a business within a business.

I travel with my PR 560, minus the humidifier. I carry a small tube to attach to my hose just in case I do need humidification. It's called a heat moisture exchanger (HME) and was made for the Z1 travel CPAP. It works well with my device.

They last for about 14 days. At that price I bought five.

Yep, that's what I do. The S9 AutoSet without humidifier is very small. When I travel, I want to get the same good therapy I get at home. The S9 will do that for me.
