RemstaM humidity chamber: How long to run dry?

Post by SelfSeeker » Sun Oct 08, 2006 8:30 am

I am curious how long it woukld take the RmestarM humidity chamber to run dry.

I guess pressure and temperature all play a part.

It almost ran dry last night at a setting of 3, min pressure of 12 (Auto). It ran for about 10 1/2 hours.

At a setting of 2, min pressure of 8 and about 9 hours, just less then half the water was used
I can do this, I will do this.

My disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, nor have I ever worked in the health care field Just my personal opinions.

I use the humidity chamber at its lowest setting (I don't like moisture on my face) and the water lasts two nights plus. The ResMed cpap itself starts at 3.5 and builds to 8.0.

I had it set at 3 last night and my pressure is 10. It was almost empty when I turned it off after about 10 1/2 hours. My house does tend to be very dry, so that probably plays a part,

Set on 1 with a pressure of 6, I use half a tank per night (about 9 hours). But that is the standard Remstar.

My auto is set at 9.5 - 12.5 and the humidifier is set at 2. I use 1/2 tank nightly. --- BT
