Still tired, I have data.
Hello everyone,
I've been fatigued all my life and I am sick of it! ( I am 19 now).
My GP didn't want to send me to a sleep test so I unfortunately have to
do it myself. I purchased an Airsense 10 with nose pillows.
I figured this way I can check sleepyheads data to see if anything is wrong.
I am pretty sure I do not have obstructive sleep apnea, does
someone with a good eye see anything else?
I thought it might be UARS or central apnea?
Are these detectable with this data?
This data is from three hours of sleep.
After that I woke up and slept 4 more hears with the cpap.
I use pressure around 12.

Re: Still tired, I have data.
Change the pressure to min 4.0/max 12.0 and sleep again.
If min 4.0 makes you feel like not getting enough air, up the min to 6.0.

I'll try that.

need to zoom in further at where the inhalation volume has lots of variations. for example, dig into the flow chart around 1:50 AM.

Re: Still tired, I have data.
It doesn't look like an apnea. See the irregular breathing just before breathing stopped? You probably woke up, moved around a bit and reflexively held your breath before settling in to fall asleep again. Here, these events are called SWJ - sleep-wake junk. They are not indicative of sleep apnea. There is a good chance you awakened for a short time and fell back to sleep without having a memory of the awakening.

Yes, better if zoomed further
I see signs of subtle flow limitation just 24 second (one unit is 12 sec) before 1:50:00.
How do you feel with CPAP? any improvement? how about leaks?

Re: Still tired, I have data.
Pinguin seems to still be awake. The waveforms would not be of any significance.
Let's see what happens with min 4/max 12 before trying to raise any concerns about data.
Re: Still tired, I have data.
This is only the data from three hours. You said you slept another four, but I don't know if you had issues then.
Also, even if the last four hours asre similar to the first three, seven hours one night is not going to erase a chronic sleep deprivation! That will happen over time.

Re: Still tired, I have data.
Do you have a recording pulse oximeter? While it's not definitive, you could wear it at night with no PAP equipment. if you did indeed see abnormal data as a result it would be reasonable to suspect sleep-disordered breathing. Of course, a normal pulse ox recording does not rule anything out, but it's one helpful piece of data. Note: if you don't have a pulse oximeter, don't run out and buy one on account of my post .

Re: Still tired, I have data.
I'm still tired, but in the 5 years since I was diagnosed with OSA, I have been sleeping better and don't get up as often during the night. I do have fibromyalgia so that complicates things in the "tired" department. The pulse oximeter will help you get a handle on whether you might have OSA. The only way to find out if you do or don't have it, is with a sleep study.
