No, it will record "motor" hours, but not therapy hours.

Don't dry the hose at all.
If you want to wash it, do so right before bed.
That way, the excess water will be carried along with the moisture
from the humidifier, saving water, energy, and avoiding . . .

Two thoughts, maybe, why use a expensive piece of medical equipment as a cheap fan or hair dryer. Why waste time washing your hose it only has filtered house air moving thru it, or air you have already breathed in. Jim

Yes, that's what they say, but it's your time and money. JimBarb (Seattle) wrote: ↑Thu May 10, 2018 6:31 pmgood point. I don't know..they just say to wash everything

Have you ever wondered why they say whatever it is "they say"?
I started out washing my Swift FX pillows and hose every morning-for about 3 months-
until I tried unscented baby wipes (my damn vacation, so there!)
The pillows that did not have to endure daily washing lasted TWICE AS LONG.
Hmmmm, it was obvious to me that Resmed's washing schedule was intended to
WEAR OUT STUFF FASTER.

huh....didn't think of that...but...my silicone cushion doesn't fit very well after a while if I don't wash it and it gets all oily....chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Thu May 10, 2018 7:01 pmHave you ever wondered why they say whatever it is "they say"?

Re: When I run the CPAP to dry the hose and humidifier...
I like to take a squirt of hand sanitizer (usually the unscented purell) and a kleenix tissue, and use that to wipe off the cushion every day.. That cleans off the oils very well. I did it for years... and a (usually) weekly wash of the mask. (anybody that tells you alcohol is bad for silicone hasn't looked at the published chemical sheets).Barb (Seattle) wrote: ↑Thu May 10, 2018 7:11 pmhuh....didn't think of that...but...my silicone cushion doesn't fit very well after a while if I don't wash it and it gets all oily....

Re: When I run the CPAP to dry the hose and humidifier...
Hello. Not that I know of. I have a ResMed 10 and I soak my mask & hose once per week then hang it over the shower rod to fully dry. On some - you have to be cautious that there isn’t too much moisture as it could interfere with the electronics. Specifically - the ResMed has a heated hose and a small standoff where it mates to a mask (like a mass air flow sensor on a car) that assists in measuring liters/minutes. Washing helps to keep bacteria down but it has to be reinstalled completely dryBarb (Seattle) wrote:does that mess up the #'s ?

Re: When I run the CPAP to dry the hose and humidifier...
I have not heard that. I had rainout at least once with my heated hose. I just drained the excess water and let it air dry on the machine. It worked for many months after that until the mask connection stretched from disconnecting the mask too often. It would seal but tend to come apart.lbkid1981 wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 12:27 pmSpecifically - the ResMed has a heated hose and a small standoff where it mates to a mask (like a mass air flow sensor on a car) that assists in measuring liters/minutes. Proven of course, by taking a smear culture and sending it to a lab to count and define the type and growth of the bacteria, or just the hype from ad's on T.V. Jim
Might do a smear check for a idea of the bacteria still living in your system, they probably are all relatives of each other.
U.V. Rays from Sunlight also kill bacteria on things.
