Hi,
Today I just realized I haven't changed my ResMed AirFit F20 headgear in the last 2 years (ouch!).
I have treated it well, but I now start to have some leaks between my face and the cushion, thinking it's time to replace it.
But accessories like cushions cost a fortune (€75), especially if you are supposed to change these parts every 3-6 months.
What is your experience with unofficial accessories such as cushions? Any brand that you think is closer to the original? Or is it risky to give it a try?
Kind regards
Per

Re: Cheap accessories for masks
Have you tried 'liners' from Padacheek.com that fill in the leaky bits between you and the mask? I don't know if they ship to ... the U K ? but don't imagine it wouild be a problem.
Also, do a forum search for Rick Blaine, our UK 'expert' who might know more.

Re: Cheap accessories for masks
When I was using the F20 mask, I used the same cushion for over a year, and the same with the head gear. I am currently using the Evora full face mask, and all parts of the mask have been in use for over a year. I get my equipment with no out of pocket cost, but I was always taught to make things last as long as possible. I use things until they can not be used any longer.

Thanks a lot all for your help.

I don't know if it will be helpful in your location, but as I no longer have insurance coverage for anything CPAP I buy my supplies from Amazon, and the prices are usually quite a bit better than elsewhere. I put together an entire ResMed Dream Wear mask for about $39, buying all brand new parts separately. Bought together even from our hosts it retails for nearly $100. I think that's less than my co-pay back when I had insurance, and I got two nasal cradles instead of just one. EBay is another source for parts.
Whether you can do that in your country (I noticed you marked the price in Euros) is a question, though.
I have at least one duplicate set up, but I only replace parts when needed and it's not often at all.
