COPD flare ups with CPAP use

Post by lmcgraw » Mon Oct 07, 2024 3:22 pm

Since I started using my cpap machine, I keep getting COPD flare up symptoms. Bad couch, phlegm. Anyone else have an issue? Maybe just coincidence?

I suggest that while you're waiting to hear from people with COPD, you also ask the pulmonologist who diagnosed and treats you,

The physicians knowledge of your condition and of COPD is very important for understanding what's going on.

"When compared to poorly compliant patients, OS patients with good CPAP compliance had a lower number of acute exacerbations related to COPD (AECOPD) and showed improved lung function and COPD related symptoms." - Clinical Respiratory Journal https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/crj.13580
