How can I block supplier from connecting over cellular?

Post by Scoojo » Fri Nov 01, 2024 9:32 pm

Hi all,

My aircurve is coming up on 10 years old this month. Come to find out, my supplier reset the flash card from November 2015 to November 2020. This means I need to wait another year for insurance to cover costs.

The ethics or legality of their actions aside, I need to disable the cellular function. I have enabled airplane mode however it gets disabled from time to time.

I have pulled the flash card and now want to restrict their access. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Scott

They can't do anything while the device is in use. When you wake up simply unplug it

Who is your supplier?
I don't remember any supplier adjusting my machine. Of course it has been about 12 years since I got a machine from a supplier. I bought my last 2 machines used from members here. Neither of those individuals have ever attempted to access my machine.

Seems odd that your supplier would bother to do this. Did they give you a reason? As long as my supplier gets their money, they wouldn't bother doing something like this.

No, your supplier did not reset your "flash card" memory, from 2015-2020. And also no, the card being reset SD Card (the proper term) would not impact your eligibility for a new machine. And, simply putting an SD Card into your machine would write the compliancy data to the card. Compliancy data is stored in non-volatile memory. BTW, your compliancy data has been continuously been uploaded to ResMed for the entire period, so there is a record of your compliance.

Having said that, disabling the modem on Air10s is trivial. They are located on the side panel and can simply be unplugged.

Search for an AirSense 10 teardown video, to see how it's done.
