TECSA's or?
Posted this in the other forum.
I've finally been getting used to my treatment and have been logging a lot more hours on the mask. Def less tired as of late.
But as we can see from the posted charts from the last three nights. My CA's are hanging on (albeit at a low overall AHI) So I'm not too fussed about them.
But wondering if they might be treatment emergent hanging on.
PS, I was on the mask so long last night that my water tank ran dry. I could certainly feel the nose irritation from running dry.

Re: TECSA's or?
Those are NOT treatment emergent central apneas.

AND? I didn't have any in my sleep lab. Just a bad night or something else? I have been drinking a LOT of coffee lately and three days ago decided to stop. Of course with my luck it's heart failure. Seems like every time I fix one thing, two others pop up.
Re: TECSA's or?
No, it isn't centrals caused by heart failure. To my eye those centrals appear to be awake/arousal related and you weren't even sound asleep.
This is what centrals and heart failure looks like.

Re: TECSA's or?
That makes more sense. I have had some issues recently after my TURP in Sep. It was all going so well. Quick recovery no incontinence. Peeing like I was 20 again.
Then about 10 days ago. I got a minor UTI. Took care of that. Then a very small amount of incontinence (leaking) started up. So I had a lot of trepidation when going to bed those nights. Even went into a spare bedroom with an old mattress. So I def wasn't at ease and was wondering. Why me?
In the end, nothing happened. But it felt like it would.

About your in-lab test: it's my understanding that when these tests are scored, pauses in breathing that occur when you're awake are not counted.

Re: TECSA's or?
That is my understanding as well. I have seen my CA's go from numerous when I started (obvious TECSA's) to very few over the last few months. Then they upticked a bit. So as a layperson, I just didn't know where the break point of TECSA vs Non-TECSA and sleep/awake is. I would have not known by looking at my chart that I was partially awake. But after Pugsy's post I did see before those repetitious CA's that my flow was jagged showing I was disturbed out of slumber. So much too learn.Miss Emerita wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 12:03 pmAbout your in-lab test: it's my understanding that when these tests are scored, pauses in breathing that occur when you're awake are not counted.
Just shows that even though info is knowledge. Too much info for one's knowledge level can be easy to misinterpret.

Well, what I was thinking is that it is *possible* you had just as many CAs during your in-lab test but they weren't scored. *If* that were the case, your current CAs would not be treatment-emergent. No way to know, though.

Last night I dropped my EPR from 2 to 1. Had zero CA's, 1 RERA and 2 Hypopneas. in 7hrs 1 minute. Could the RERA be from the EPR reduction?Miss Emerita wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 12:33 pmWell, what I was thinking is that it is *possible* you had just as many CAs during your in-lab test but they weren't scored. *If* that were the case, your current CAs would not be treatment-emergent. Did change headgear from my Knightsbridge that hurts my ear back to an old strap. I do know that my sleep has been more restless trying to deal with the ear pain the Knightsbridge is causing. Did put in an order for the "air deluxe" model that has ear cutouts.
Since I started treatment 9 oct 24, My stats are
AHI .75
OA's .07
Hypopnea .13
UA .01
CA's .54
RERA .01
95% FL .04
CSR .00

Your numbers are excellent. I'd recommend you concentrate on getting more sleep and doing what you need to do to feel as comfortable as you can during the night. A new strap sounds like a good idea.
And at this point, try focusing less on the numbers and more on how you feel during the day. Keep some notes so you can track correlations with other factors (stress, settings, time asleep, breaks in therapy, etc.).

And that can be harder than getting used to therapy. We modern humans are quite rubbish most of the time at doing what's best for ourselves. So many distractions.Miss Emerita wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 3:33 pmYour numbers are excellent.
