I was in DC two weeks ago when all the alerts occurred. I flew that day from Reagan National to ST Louis. I had no problem with carrying my CPAP as carry on luggage. They did xray and then swab it in both airports for explosives but other than that no one questioned my CPAP. In fact everyone was real nice.

The biggest thing to remember is give your self time so you are no in a hurry. They need to be comfortable with what they see on the xray and sometimes they may xray before and after they hand inspect the CPAP. But I have flown all over - Italy, Puerto Rico, and all over the US and had no problems with had carrying the CPAP. Good Traveling.

No Problems

I just traveled from Chicago to UK then on the farrie from UK to Ireland, then left Dublin back to Chicago. Carried on my AEIOMed everrest (Best machine ever and I have had 5 now) and I had 0 issues. Most of the time I got stopped and they carried it off to do something to it and then they braught it back and gave it to me. Took maybe an extra 1 min to go through tops. I think now they are all used to it. NOW, checking my swords through baggage on the farrie was a whole new story.

Have not experienced any problems flying. What everyone above has said is good information. I had my Dr. write a Rx for the cpap, just in case my machine goes down while I am away from home.

Also had Dr. write a Rx for distilled water, pharmacist filled it and I now have 2 16 oz bottles of distilled water that I carry-on and have had no problems with TSA.

Look into a "Pelican" case to protect the cpap. The 1450 works good with the ResMed and 3i humidifier. Can also store hose, mask, chin strap and one bottle of water. I have already test it's durability and protection capabilites with a drop of about 4ft onto concrete. Kept everything in working order and unbroken.

Best regards,

Fred

I have a Pelican 1510 case for traveling with my CPAP. With it being on wheels, the case makes it really easy to get around in those big airports. The case is SUPER protective and I'm sure could withstand anything the baggage handlers could do to it, but I still carry it on board with me for fear that it could be lost. Even had one TSA guy tell me it was the nicest CPAP case he'd ever seen.

I've had my CPAP for a year now. I am 100% compliant and I love it. Don't ever want to be without it.

Happy Traveling,
Sharon
