Replace Comfortlite 2

Post by jmps » Sat Mar 01, 2008 2:49 pm

My Comfortlite 2 is getting pretty old and needs to be replaced. Anyone like this nasal mask but found one they like even better? I am about to order.

I have found two things I don't like about this mask.

1. I have to tape the nasal interface in place or it can come out at night.
2. The headgear covers a lot of my forehead and can get hot.
3. The rear straps slide up the back of my head.

Thanks for any help!

I agree with Sharon. The ComfortLite 2 is my 2nd favorite mask, but the Headrest is my favorite.

I switched to the Breeze and have been very happy with it. I find it much lighter and doesn't sit down on my forehead.

Happy sleeping,
Sharon

See how individual everyone is I have been using CL2 for over 21/2 years now & love it. I stablise it by tying my hair in a pony tail & placing the back strap under it .I do use the optilife mask too but I like the CL2 better.

Hi! Haven't talked to you in awhile.

Are you a side sleeper? I recently decided to work my way out of the Vista. I keep losing weight (being on XPAP?) and now my face is thinner and the Vista stopped working for me. I had the Mirage Swift II in my stash so tried it last night. Not bad except when I want to sleep on the side with the hose : )

Also, I have fair skin and headgear on my skin can be problematic.

So, does the headrest stay put when side sleeping, or changing from one side to the other.

Thanks : )

I have read a lot of posts by Headrest users. Most feel it is very stable when tossing and turning, but I have seen a couple that have had problems.

I am a side sleeper and do turn quite a bit during the night. I use one tights leg strap to stabilize the Headrest and it works really well for me.

Here is a link to a posting by Rested Gal in which she provides a number of links on discussions about the Headrest and modifications to it.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I think I am going to give the Headrest a try. I'm also going to order the short hose and modify my CL2 to get rid of the elbow. I am hoping I will then have two good masks.

After trying a FFM I have given up on them because of leakage and decided that the nasal style is for me. I don't like taping but a chinstrap doesn't stop me from leaking through my lips. So, this is an attempt to find the best nasal mask for me and just go ahead and tape.

I found that the Comfortlite (not CL2) headgear is much lighter and cooler. I did remove the hard elbow, it made a huge difference! I have been using the CL headgear since the summer and haven't had a single problem with it.
