I must agree that the Padacheeks on my mask makes all the difference in the world! Used them for the first time last night. Only took from Monday ordering them to receive them Thursday 2 /3 of the way across the country. Not only does it make the mask more comfortable, especially the tops of my ears, but they also seemed to help with keeping the mask in place when I moved around. Did not have to fiddle around reseating the pillows. If you don't have them, get them, you will be glad you did. -- JS

Thanks for all the tips on using the Swift LT! I found that, for me the straps were the problem too. The suggestion to loosen the back strap and tighten the top strap worked to keep it off the top of my ears! Much better than trying to get the top strap tighter.

The top strap does slip so I put a small piece of Velcro on each site (not overlapping the strap so that it caught my hair) and this has worked great. No more sore ears and the nasal pillows stay put better. They are not tight but feel secure!

Thanks again!

My problem is my mask keeps slipping off! I think I must be a very restless sleeper and move around alot at night, and because this mask is so comfy and not as secure as a full face mask, I somehow just pull it off. I wake up in the morning and find the mask next to me in the bed, or just on the floor. I check my S8 Elite II efficiency data, and I see I only had the mask on for ~2-4 hours. I have my machine next to me on my nightstand, does anyone have some tips for where I should put my machine or route my hose to prevent this problem?

I wear my headgear fairly loose and it would slip off my head if I didn't wear my hair in a pony tail (the back strap slips over the pony tail).

You may want to try something like the Pur-Sleep PAPCap. Others have tried adding some velcro (the hook side) to their headgear so that it sticks to the hair on the back of your head and does not slip off. If you are bald ... the PAPCap may be your only solution.

If you look anything like your avatar Dreamstalker, I'd think your headgear would stay in place really well even without a ponytail You sure were a cute baby

Like Dreamstalker, a ponytail helps me to keep my Swift nasal pillows in place throughout the night. Without it the entire headgear will shift and I don't want to try clamping it all down too hard or it'd be uncomfortable.

Yea ... I suppose it is more of a rat tail than a pony tail (bad genetics from my mom I guess)

No matter how I adjusted it, I could not stop this. Other then that, I just couldnt get the pillows to stop leaking. I had worn this mask allot before last night, and didnt seem to have the problems I was having last night. Other then that, my biggest problem is keeping it on during the night. I move around alot in my sleep, and seems to come loose allot. I will watch the video when I get home from work, I have dial up at work, and not enough time to watch it here.
BigDaddy, If you are still having problems with staps and slipping, or pain, you way want to follow some of these earlier threads which many people accepted as good solutions [It won the coveted LAB RAT AWARD ] :

As soon as you get it like you like, take it off and throw it in the circular bin! I had about 3 good nites with this mask, A. the cushion won't last, B. no matter how you route this over your head (unless you are motionless) this mask is not sturdy enough to seal. Wash it and it will NEVER be the same.
Good Luck, I see a very few having success with it. RESMED should have just shortened the original barrel and then the mask would have florished in the market. Just MHO

Hmmm okay well are there any short hair men out there who have had similar Swift LT mask fitting problems and have some solutions? I almost feel like the mask needs a forehead strap in order to fit more snugly

I keep my head shaved and I have no problem with the mask. I did have to try 2 different size pillows until I figured which would seal the best and stay sealed in the nares. I keep the top strap snug and the back one loose. Works for me.

As long as I change out the nasal pillows every 4-5 weeks, I get a good seal.

<insert recording of an actual seal>

It does take a little finessing with the straps, but for me, it needs to be JUST snug enough. That is the sweet spot for me. Tighter on the back strap than the top strap.

I now wear it with a PapCAP which seems to keep it--and my lower jaw--in place a little better than without.

tattooyu, The above caught my attention. I am curious: Do you use any gels or lubricants which come in contact with the pads? (Some people use gels for better seals). How do you clean it? What liquids / soaps / detergnts do you use? How often?

I have been using mine for over 6+ months everyday, and I cannot see any change. I simply clean it in water everyday. So I want to know what happens to your pads. I would be very interested in inspecting your used pads you throw away -- I will pay postage for you. This is scientific curiosity.
