Traveling with Cpap machines in China

Post by ger1407 » Mon Apr 04, 2011 3:22 pm

We will be traveling by plane within China and have been told that we can only have one carry-on bag which would mean I would not be able to travel with my Cpap. ( I also have a I Pad, meds and a camera that need to be carried on board.)

"The limit of one carry-on bag and one personal bag (e.g., purse or briefcase) for each traveler does not apply to medical supplies and/or assistive devices (including service animals and their equipment). Passengers with disabilities generally may carry medical equipment, medications, and assistive devices on board the aircraft."

You may want to also check with your specific airline to clarify what their posted policy is on it and print a copy to bring with you. What the rules are and what people with some authority think they are aren't always the same thing.

I wish I was wrong but I think that only applies in the US.

Hi,

I have traveled extensively through China and Korea (mostly by plane) on numerous trips and I have never had a problem with a carry on and my BiPAP. Nobody ever even asked.

Relax. Have a great trip. Bring back some tea. It's really good and really fresh.

Cheers

It applies to internal commercial airline flights in the US and International commercial airline flights to/from the US. It has no applicability beyond that.

Cheers,

Bill
