Are you really no better since you started the machine? Even if your numbers are excellent, if you do not feel better, or rather, feel bad perhaps you are not being treated for everything that's wrong. Have you had a thorough physical?
Good luck, please tell the sleep doc what you told us.

Just saw your post on the thyroid, perhaps that is the problem.

I just had my 1 year checkup with the sleep doctor on Monday. He was very pleased with my numbers, compliance etc. He commented on the pressure range that I run (I dont think he adverted to the fact that I had changed it from where he set it one year ago!) and seemed to think it was all good. My blood pressure was an unprecedented 116/62 . My thyroid meds were increased a bit in october by my primary care physician and I now feel that I have more energy. My sleep improved over time on the apap but the increase thyroid dose seemed to really make a noticeable difference to me in terms of a boost to my energy level. so this is just to second the suggestion that there may be more than one factor at work in how you feel.

I was diagnosed with thyroid problems this last spring and it took awhile for him to find the right dose for me. I started out at a low dose for 30 days and then did blood work to see where I was at and we had to increase the dose and went for another 30 days and did blood work. We did this 3 times before I had the right dose and my readings were where he wanted them. After that I could feel myself getting more energy and feeling some what better. At the same time I was diagnosed with sleep apnea so I had two things working against me. Now that both of them are under control I feel a lot better. So maybe when you get that Thyroid under control you'll feel a lot better. Both the thyroid and sleep apnea at the same time is two items that make you feel tired and fatigued.

Oh my. Isn't it amazing how the written word can be so misunderstood? I was not clear, totally my fault in my explaining. I meant that my .1 score on my cpap was no better, meaning I wanted a 0, and no worse than it was 6 months ago. I have been on cpap for about 6 years, not sure can't remember. Anyhow, I feel 100% better than I did when I was at 79.9 events. Wow, compared to that I am batting 100%. Yes, I know the thyroid causes you to be very tired, but as far as the apnea, I am doing great!
