Pillow Thief

Post by gasp » Fri Jun 29, 2012 10:57 am

My husband stole my pillow LOL! OK, kidding - silly me, I offered him my Regenesis pillow to see if he liked it and it bought him such relief he didn't want to give it back and said buy another one. He has had neck pain since a motorcycle accident in his late teens and he said he really likes the pillow because he can support his neck just so.

After many years using my beloved Tempurpedic pillow I didn't think there would another that would work better for me. I went back to it so my hubby could enjoy painless sleep and found out that I didn't sleep as well. I sleep cooler with the Regenesis which is a real plus in Arizona. Also I love that the Regenesis stays put when I push it here and there to accommodate my mask, support crevices in my neck, or to heighten the pillow for neck support when side sleeping. I am now a huge fan of the Regenesis! Thanks Bret for carrying this great product at Pur-Sleep http://www.pur-sleep.com/products/produ ... ategory=14

Not to take away from Pur Sleep, but I got my Regenesis pillow on Overstock.com for those on a budget.

Yeah, but Pur is 39.99 and Ocerstock is $44.49 ...

I may have to try one ... I have a Ergonomic type pillow, don't know the name as I cut off the tab, but it was made in Canada ... It has a hollow cut out for my head when I sleep on my back, and if I roll over the sides are taller so it supports my neck ...

Bret/Pur-Sleep has made the difference between wanting to throw my mask across the room and getting a good night's sleep. I love the essential oil and diffuser pads and rarely go a night without them. For that alone I'd support his business. Coupled with his outstanding customer service I'd pay more and never go elsewhere.

I see by the previous post that Bret's price is actually lower than Overstock. My prior experience with Overstock is that they actually carry overstock merchandise and one may not be able to purchase a product there over time because they only had it temporarily in stock as an overstock item. I just searched "regenesis pillow' on Overstock and nothing came up. Another vote for Pur-Sleep as they have consistent inventory )

Overstock.com does offer 3 buckwheat pillows right now (2 that are regular bed pillows)...just checked and there is one that appears to be very similar to the Regenisis pillow for 44.49. It is called a Premium Buckwheat hull pillow.
I don't know if it is the same pillow or not. I don't know if Bret gave the Regenisis name and the other company called it the Premium...don't even know if they are the same but they do appear to be similar. The sides may not be quite as squared off as the Regenisis. It does appear to be the same size.

Overstock.com offers the 2.95 shipping fees...most often the prices on heavier to ship items will reflect an attempt to compensate for the additional cost above the 2.95 for shipping. Not always but it tends to run that way. Buckwheat hulls are heavy.

Overstock.com has its place in the grand scheme of things. I just got some awesome high thread count Egyptian cotton bed sheets that no way could I have afforded from Bed Bath and Beyond.

When at all possible I do always try to send my business to the little guy or the local seller, to reward for good service and great products. Sometimes is does cost a couple or few dollars more but I feel the little guys are worth it.

If you look at the enlarged photo at overstock, the tag on the pillow does say Regenesis - so I'd think it's the same pillow. That being said, it is more expensive there than at Pur-Sleep!

I've been wondering for years if there was a better pillow than what I'd been using. I think this might be just the ticket. I'll be ordering one, from Pur-Sleep, once I rejoin the ranks of the employed (being out of work stinks!). Thanks for the review!

Also in some of the reviews it mentions it by name

ETA: I just ordered one from Pur. $4.99 flat rate shipping! Total to my door $44.98!!

I didn't look any further than the quick search I did at overstock. So I didn't see the review or the tag mentioning Regenisis.
I don't remember the cost for shipping from Pur Sleep. Didn't check that amount.
So for actual cost one has to figure total with shipping...if it was anywhere close I would buy from Pur Sleep.

Are buckwheat pillows loud? Do they crunch in your ear? That would drive me nuts.

I tried a buckwheat pillow once.
Couldn't take the the infernal crunching for 10 minutes.

Acording to this these do not ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPbd3aH ... ata_player

Some of the reviews written on the overstock.com site say that they are amazed at this pillow compared to some previous pillows from other suppliers ... Hopefully mine will be waiting at my house when I get home next weekend ... So I can take it with me in the truck to get use to before I get my machine ... One less thing new all of a sudden.

I really like my buckwheat pillow (queen size from beans72.com).

It supports my head and neck very well. I just push the beans around to make a nice spot for my head to rest, lie down and go to sleep (well, on a good night, but if I don't it's not because of the pillow). Before my buckwheat pillow and even now when travelling, I spend ages fidgeting with the pillow so that it will compress to just the right height: there such a big different between the height of pill before I put my head on it and afterwards.

I hardly notice the sound of the hulls and it doesn't disturb me at all.

I'm glad you got the Egyptian sheets at a good price. Regarding Bret's pillow, I really like the cover. It's thick and comfortable. I also like that it comes with enough hulls to customize the pillow to just the right size.

I love my down pillows....I scrunch them up into many different shapes to fit the position I am currently sleeping in. I use two and most often lay them out in an L to support my upper chest when I sleep 3/4s on my stomach Oh and I dig a hole in the junction of the two pillowed for my Swift FX Ahhhhhh Life is good!
