Lansinoh is a God Send !

Post by DannyPh » Sun Jan 05, 2014 1:42 pm

For years I have been fighting Sore Nares and leaking Pillows causing my sleep to be disrupted. Yesterday I purchased some Lansinoh and Wow I slept ten hrs last night with no awakenings of leaking pillows. Kinda expensive but well worth the Money to me. My Nares feel soooooo much better after only a couple applications.

It lasts a long time--you only use a tiny bit.
My tube is over 3 years old.

Can it be used with a FF mask to seal around the edges?

I have. Just lube'd the contact area of the cushion with a thin smear of sheep grease.
It helped the seal, and in the morning, I had the softest ring on my face.

How is this different from any other cream?

I think the advantage is that it's non-petroleum based (non-damaging to the mask) AND it's thick. Think...thick petroleum jelly, but not petroleum based. You use a wee little bit at a time so I can imagine it going far. For those of you who can't find it, don't want to search or don't want to buy a breast-feeding-caused-damage-fighting-cream, it is on Amazon.

Like DoriC asked earlier, is this applied to the cushions or the nares?

Just the tiniest bit on your thumb, then rub it on your nares. Too much and the cushions will move around and can pop out.

(Then you'll feel like a boob!)

On my ff mask, I put it on the cushion.
Sorry it took me so long--busy all day.

Nares are to nose what lips are to mouth.

Lanisoh is freakin' amazing stuff. Expensive but as others have mentioned, the tube lasts FOREVER! I have also found it useful if my nostrils (nares!) are a bit raw, say from a runny nose. It provides enough of a barrier that I can comfortably use my CPAP with no problem. And it lasts...I've never had to re-apply it.
