One week follow up was this morning...

Post by 9forus » Wed May 07, 2014 11:59 am

I have had my machine for a week now. Had a follow up to swap the Quattro mirage for the Airfit. I LOVED the feel of the Airfit on in the office. Hopefully it will be more comfortable. The Mirage was just too heavy. I have a week to try the Airfit then keep it or exchange it.

They read my data. My machine was set auto 4-10. They upped the min to 8 to help with the brief suffocation feeling. They also upped the max from 10 to 12. They said I was sitting between 9.9-10 all night. So now I am set for 8-12. The ramp will start at 6.5 if I need it.

It showed no leaks. I hadn't felt any. I am also proud to say I was at 100% compliance!

I go back in 2 weeks, or sooner if need be.

I suspect these settings will serve you well. With the higher minimum you may not even see the maximum go up as much or as often. It's funny how it works out that way but I see if happen all the time. When in prevent mode optimal minimum pressure it doesn't have to go to "fix it" mode with higher pressures as much or as often.
Use the ramp if you need it...changing from 4 starting to 8 starting is a bit of a leap and might be a little uncomfortable until you get used to it. There's a good chance with a little time you won't need the ramp but if you do it's there to help out.

Yes! I can't wait to try it tonight. It was beyond comfy in the office. But we will see after wearing it all night... It is definitely much lighter than the Quattro mirage and I like the headgear much better.

Great to see you are trying different masks. I found having the ramp drop below 10 would wake me up feeling like suffication. Now I rarely use ramp to stop leaks and my top end is 14, based on my doc's observation that my AHI actually went up over 14 cmH2O.

Keep up the process!

Don
