Correct way to have nasal pillows

Does anyone know what is the correct way to have the nasal pillows for the Resmed Swift FX headgear? Does the printing that's on the pillows go on the top or bottom? I just bought new headgear a couple months ago and it leaks really bad. To the point where I think it's affecting my sleep, I'm a lot tireder than usual and I can feel it in my lungs. I'm probably going to have to have minor surgery in the next couple months and don't want to be doing that until this is resolved. I have a referral to the sleep lab, but they are booking for end of May.

I think I have the problem figured out. I have a new nasal pillows and had not used it yet. Put it on this afternoon for my nap and no leaking. The old one doesn't have any tears in it (the one before that got a tear), so I just assumed it wasn't the culprit. But we all know what happens when you assume.....

If the pillows are mounted upside-down, it is not comfortable.

Yes, having that raised lettering on the top is also useful in the dark in orienting how you put the mask on *smile*. Sounds funny, but I always am putting my cpap mask on in the dark, and it's always a question of which way is up *smile*. Feeling the lettering means that I'm right side up. Works for me, anyways.

The Swift FX headgear is a brilliant design--mostly.
The top buckle tended to break my hair, so I put a side cover over it.
To prevent the back strap from sliding on my head, I sewed a piece of Velcro
(hook side) to the inside center of that strap--so it clung to my hair.

I had to just about get a magnifying glass out to read it and I knew what it said but it is easily felt with the finger tips once you know where to feel.

I am spoiled...I have a window right next to my side of the bed and there is a pole light outside in the yard (I live out in the boonies) that is on all night...about 50 ft from the window so I can just use the light from the outside pole light to verify correct mask pillow position and I do it every night because one night I did sleep with the darn pillows upside down and woke often during the night wondering why the damn thing was hurting my nose. One time taught me a good lesson...I always hold the mask and pillows up to the window to verify not only pillow cone position but straps too...one time I got top and back strap messed up.

I too have worn the Swift FX upside down one night and lived to tell the tale.

My P10 pillows are easy--my thumb fits in the hollow below the pillows.
Almost like a soft worry stone.
