Still sleepy

Post by FaethSilverwolf » Mon Jun 04, 2018 6:44 am

Hello Everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone else has the same problem I do and if so what I can do to fix it. I've been on my Cpap machine for 6 months now. My starting AHI is 107.8 so I wasn't getting any sleep at all. I feel much better than I did at least most days however I've never woke up with LOTS of energy. You know the kind that supper bubbly people wake up with the spilling over the top. I feel like I have just enough energy to barely get through the day and I live a sedentary life style. I want to have LOTS of energy again. Does it come with time? Truth be told I'm more on the sleepy side most of the time.

Do you take any medications of any kind? If so, what?

Did you ever wake up and be one of those bubbly people with tons of energy first thing in the morning?

How many hours of actual sleep are you getting?
Are those hours you do get fragmented with multiple wake ups? If so approx how many any any idea why?

Do you have any other physical or mental health issues going on that might impact how you sleep or feel?

How old are you?

I get the same thing. I scored a 1.2 last night and feel like death today.

Lots of things can affect energy levels:
Electrolytes could be low. (Mg is supposed to help)
Stress
Or even sleep activities that partially wake you but are not recorded as an event. Like if I get a mask leak, or air blowing out my mouth, I often don't become awake enough to remember it, but will still be roused. And it's not an apnea, so it does not affect the score, but still affects your sleep.
I also put my phone on "do not disturb" so I don't perk up when I hear a notification.
I think the thyroid also does funny things sometimes.

Good luck!

Exercise may also help with energy levels, and moreover for me at least, and some others exercise became this big monster when I had untreated apnea... turns out it's a lot easier with more sleep and oxygen.
Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"
