Resmed N30i and noise/air output

Post by KungFuCow » Tue Jun 02, 2020 1:38 pm

Has anyone found a way to diffuse the air that comes out of the N30i at the nose piece? It seems to shoot a couple of straight streams out air out of the two ports there and its pretty annoying. I had to switch away from this mask because it blows so much air on my wife. Id like to set up a way to scatter it some but I havent found a way to do so yet. Also, does the Phillips version of this mask make less noise/air streams? It looks like they exhaust of out a single port on the nose piece.

Thanks

That was one of the things I didn't like about the N30i. I switched to the P30i pillows.

The P30i pillows, which are a drop-in replacement completely changed the diffusing.

The P30i has a layer of mesh on the other side of the holes, maybe you can try taping a filter over it, similar to what people do on the Bleep masks.

Not sure if switching to pillows is a consideration for you.

For reference the P30i:

My only experience with pillows is the Brevida which I recently bought and initially liked however after a couple of days of use, I would wake up with pretty good pain in my right nostril. I dont think I have it too tight and last night I couldnt even wear it. After a few minutes, I could tell the pain was going to be too much. So... so far pillows arent agreeing with me.

I had looked at a way to attach a piece of filter but didnt have much luck. Ill have to take another look. Thats the mask Ive had the best luck with outside of the Bleep but I cant get the ports to stay on my nose all night without a ridiculous amount of tape.
