We now have two Autoset 10s For Her so I have been able to play around with the new one.
The new one (confirmed 0 run time hours) sounds like a small engine whirring sound. Almost like a mechanical sound. Has a little rumble to it, but not like it's shaking things. But you can notice it if you're next to it.
My now year-old unit has a deeper, less rumble sound. It's deeper, so it's not as noticeable when you're next to it.
Are the two machines supposed to sound different? One is using a P10 and the other a Brevida. They both are using the heated tube. Both start pressures are at a 6.
Two Autoset 10 For Her but they sound different at exhale?

I bought an Autoset 10 For Her a few weeks ago, and this is the sound it started to make on the second night. (That isn't my machine, but it's the exact same noise.) I took mine back to the dealer after a couple of weeks of putting up with it. They rang Resmed and were told to send it to them for testing. Haven't heard back yet, but the dealer thinks it should be replaced, so hopefully that will happen. Just to add; mine would start off alright at night, but by the time I woke up after a few hours, the noise was there. I think there must be some fault in a lot of the For Her machines. After looking around on the net, I've seen quite a few people talking about the same problem.

Jeez, that is much worse than what I have. Like WAY worse. However, the machine in the YT video is an Aircurve 10--do you think that might make a difference? I will see if I can get a recording of my new machine. Mine is much more quiet, but the thing that bothers me is the slight rumble (in that you can actually very slightly feel the vibration). Had I never received my original machine last year, I would have thought that this new machine is perfectly fine.Revived1 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 1:51 amIs this the sound?

One of the two machines has something off about it, but I suspect it's the newer machine just on how it sounds.

By any chance, was one machine made in Australia, but the other someplace else?

Nope; both machines are from Singapore.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 5:31 pmBy any chance, was one machine made in Australia, but the other someplace else?

Yes, I'm guessing it would be the newer one, as well. If any machine should be quiet, you'd hope it would be a new one. That's certainly what I was hoping for when I bought mine!zoomzoom wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 1:23 pmJeez, that is much worse than what I have. Like WAY worse. Re: the machine in the Youtube clip being an Aircurve 10, I'm not sure if it makes a difference to anything, but it's the same noise as on mine, which is an Autoset 10 For Her. I mainly found that clip so that I could explain the noise to the dealer where I bought it. Since it only makes the noise after a few hours of operation, I knew it wouldn't make the noise when I took it down to them.
I hired a couple of machines while I was waiting to buy mine, and neither of them made any noise at all. Hope you can get your problems sorted out....& hope I can get mine sorted out as well. The longer I wait to hear back from them, the more I suspect they're going to try to say there's nothing wrong with it! Hope not, but we'll see.
Good luck.
