Question for Nasal Pillow Users
Hi Guys:
Just tried the F&P Brevida last night. Feels very good at first but getting soreness on the underside of my septum where the cartridge is. Feels like the pillow is pushing up on it.
Does this go away after a while or if it bothers you day one it is going to bother you forever? It kind of hurts after a while and this mask takes very little pressure to keep a good seal. I mean the strap was very loose and it still bothered me.
Thanks for the advice.

Re: Question for Nasal Pillow Users
When I first started with Nasal Pillows, and then restarting with Pillows after taking a break from them I was sore and got blisters under my nairs. Ater a couple days the skin toughened up and no problems since.

Re: Question for Nasal Pillow Users
The only time I have had any soreness under my nose is when the strap holding the pillows onto my nose was too tight. My pillows are quite soft, so I never noticed any issues from them when I started though.

Ibid. I do use Lanisoh to help with the soreness when it does happen on rare occasions.

Re: Question for Nasal Pillow Users
I switch to a nasal mask or the Bleep for a few days whenever the P10 starts irritating my nares. Once the redness goes away, I switch back.

Re: Question for Nasal Pillow Users
Is this the P10 Club? A lot of P10 users out there.
Thanks for the feedback.
I am going to give if a few more nights and see how it feels.
Really no issue with skin sores, just pressure under my nose causing aches / soreness.
I have to say the Brevida feels like it will fall off easily but seals very well as you move around but I would like it a bit tighter. Just need to build up my tolerance.

Re: Question for Nasal Pillow Users
I use P30i but it took me a long time to get used to. I would alternate between the N30i for a while, then try the P30i for a couple of days, then back to the N30i for a week or so. After a couple months of back & forth, the only mask I can wear now is the P30i. Leaks are better & AHI is much better. Worth the struggle.

Still searching for the "right" mask.
Re: Question for Nasal Pillow Users
I had a little soreness when I first started using the P-10 mask.
Took some advice from the forums and now apply a little Carmex to each nostril at bedtime, no more issues.

Re: Question for Nasal Pillow Users
To OP - I use the Brevida mask. Had some soreness for the first few days, same as you. Hang in there. The skin toughens up after a while.
Question: you say Brevida seals very well but you want the straps tighter. Too-tight straps can CAUSE leaks. So why do you want it tighter if it seals well already?

Re: Question for Nasal Pillow Users
Answer: Because the straps are so loose the nasal pillow flops around. I mean the first night I had them REALLY loose, almost falling off my face loose. They would flop leak and seal as soon as I stopped moving. I tighten up a little last night and the pressure was not so bad and they stayed in place good. I am asking if they will send me XS-S pillows to try No Charge.
Any issues with the strap location? Falls low on the ears but I push up high so I can lay down without them pressing on my ears. But they press on the side of my face also. Do you use strap cushions? I tried on dreamware but I found out the velcro part doubled up and made the strap thicker than it was before. Just wondering. Thanks.
(Update - They did agree to send a XS-S pillow so will see how that works.)

Re: Question for Nasal Pillow Users
I switched to the Brevida nasal pillow mask from the P10 a couple of weeks ago, looking for fewer leaks. I find the Brevida much less comfortable, plus I get irritation of the nostrils and septum. I have been switching back to the P10 for a few days when the soreness becomes too uncomfortable. Like some of the other comments, I get the sensation that the Brevida penetrates deeper into my nostrils and makes contact with the nairs. Also, I am struggling to find the right amount of tightness for the headgear, as leaks continue to be a problem with this mask too. I am still hoping that the Brevida will work for me because the inflatable cushion design makes a lot of sense.

Re: Question for Nasal Pillow Users
I don't have any issue with the nostrils, just the pressure under the nose and septum. The same discomfort I felt with the Dreamware system but much less so. I have not received the XS-S pillow yet, hope it comes soon to try. It is getting better each night. I would like to make it a bit tighter to stay in place but right now have it at the absolute minimum needed to prevent leaks. Leaks are very low but not zero. Have you tried smaller pillows? I have not tried the P10 before.
