Not Snoring, Whistling

Post by kopoloff » Thu Apr 09, 2009 3:40 pm

Here's a bizarre one.

i've been struggling for a few nights with a whistling mask. Since I use an OPUS 360, there's not a lot of places where it can be coming from. Anyway, last night I found it (with the help of my wife, who is the world's lightest sleeper; she wakes to ant's footsteps. Next Door)

It appears that there is a tiny air leak at the base of the pillow, adjacent to the side arm. The leak is where the base of the pillow sits in the sealing rim in the mask moulding. I can't see any obvious defect either in the moulding or in the silicone pillow.

So I coated the base of the pillow with Lansinoh before I reseated it, and magic, no whistle.

One step forward, two steps back!!

My old Opus used to do that periodically and I would fiddle with it, sometimes for ages until it stopped PITA, the new version has not done this YET but good advice should it start!!!

cheers

My Liberty whistles and I have to keep adjusting it until I stops. LOVE the comment about your wife's sensitivity to the ants next door. I'll have to share that with my family--oh, so TRUE.
