How often to replace cpap machine

Post by cabhoney » Thu Jul 21, 2011 2:48 pm

I was wondering how often a cpap machine should be replaced? I called my insurance provider today and they told me that they would only replace it if it was broken. What have you all heard? Thanks.

Most insurance and Medicare will replace a CPAP at 5 years.

Some insurance companies will replace it every 3 years. I would check with them again, only replacing it 'when it breaks' doesn't sound right.

I just checked with mine, Healthy Blue Living (BCBS) for Michigan and they told me they would repair or replace if mine could no longer be repaired. I argued this point with them for quite a while.
