My 1st PAP "birthday"

Post by redjoe » Sun Apr 01, 2012 4:22 am

As of today, I've been "on the hose" for one year. I purposely used “birthday”, because it’s as if I’ve been reborn. Here are some of the positive changes (in no particular order):

1. Nocturia (excessive urination at night) is gone. I used to have to get up at least 3 times every night, often more. Now, it’s never more than once, and often not at all.

2. I almost never wake up with a headache in the morning (it used to be almost all the time).

3. No more night sweats.

4. My blood pressure is normal now. (Still on meds, but hoping to drop them if I keep getting rid of excess me).

5. I’m down just over 20 pounds (still plenty more to go, but it’s happening).

6. Cuts, scrapes, and bruises heal faster.

7. Before APAP, I would get home from work, sit down to take off my shoes, and sometimes fall asleep before I got both of them off. Now I change my clothes and get some work done at home, or go out for a nice long walk.

Overall, I just feel more alive.

Thanks to all the great people here whose insights helped me progress to the point where I am today!
