Hello to the board:
I have finally received my CPAP machine. My physician didn't follow my directions exactly and ordered the Resmed S9 Elite instead of the AutoSet.
I have bought quite a few items from this site to make my first night easier. One item I find myself needing is something for the bridge of my nose which is very red and sore this morning after eleven hours of sleep. Is there anything out there for a Quattro full face mask? I was thinking a bandaid but the has to be something more high tech than that!
Secondly, after a couple of hours wearing the CPAP while watching TV (I was trying to get used to wearing it), I looked up my AHI and it was 14. Now, I cannot remember how I got to the screen which provided me the AHI information.
If anyone has the time, could you please direct me on how to look up my daily AHI on a new ResMed S9 Elite with EPR? I am also interested in finding out if the machine can provide me with mask leaks information.
Thanks a bunch. I hope everyone is well.

You can use Gecko pads but not cheap: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/Gecko-Nasal-Pad.htmlThewino wrote:Hello to the board:

Re: New Machine: AHI?
For your nose you can use a small band aid or use mole skin which can be found in the foot section at WalMart or any drug store, cut a piece to fit and put it on your nose.

You could also purchase a Pad-a-Cheek liner.

Re: New Machine: AHI?
NOTHING helped the bridge of my poor nose. I tried bandages, Gecko pads, moleskin and more. Before the first week was out I had an open pressure sore that ultimately took 2.5 weeks to heal. ( Pressure sores can be serious problems.) Ultimately, I discovered nasal pillows and once I learned to not open my mouth during sleep, found cpap Nirvana. For a few weeks, I put blue painters tape over my mouth. My body learned that, with the machine, I did not have tomopen my mouth for air. I have not needed the tape since.
By the way, when we are awake, we only breathe when we need it. If you pause 10 seconds or more between breaths (and we all do that quite regularly when awake) the machine will log it as an apnea event. Bottom line, you must disregard such numbers when you KNOW you were awake. Your machine showed 14, but the truth was ZERO.
