Getting tired during the day again

Post by billgamble » Mon Jun 15, 2015 7:15 pm

I've been on my CPAP for about two years now and for the past month I've been getting tired during the day like I used to before CPAP. Has anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to ramp up the air pressure. When I task the mask off it blows air like it always has but it doesn't seem like it makes me take as deep of a breath as it did when I first started on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Of course there is a way to ramp up the air pressure...we all do it, if necessary. Without knowing what your current pressure is and without seeing some data from your CPAP, there is no way to know IF your pressure needs to be ramped up...(or reduced).

If I'm not active I get tired during the day. If I sit down to watch TV after lunch, I'll fall asleep for a half hour or more. My AHI is down below 3, so I don't think it's the CPAP. Maybe I'm just getting old

Hi billgamble,

From the infos I see in your last post, nothing strike me out enough to explained that your situation could be caused by your CPAP therapy. Any changed in your life in recent months? (Weight, meds, personal, change in working hour, etc.)

AHI look pretty good and stable and hours per night also pretty steady for a year.

Do you you have more days than usual without using the CPAP AT ALL? I ask because I think Sleephead doesn't count days without usage in his stats. It seem to do it for me anyway.

Leak are under control but they seem to be increasing, maybe time for some mask adjustment or a new mask I don't know. And since those are average, I would look more in details to see if you have more than usual days with high leak.
Average Leaks
Recent 7 days 30 days 6 months 1 year
3.68 5.74 6.07 1.04 1.61

It's also look like the only change in 2 years in your Autoset setting was few months ago on 2/3/15 but it's not EPR or pressure setting. Probably a humidifier setting or RAMP? Both can changed your confort but would certainly not be to the point of getting back where you were before CPAP!

Average pressure look pretty stable execpt for the odd number for 6 months (1.32???) and 1 year (1.85???), mistype maybe? Or maybe just a bug in Sleepyhead...
