What is the correct setting for Respironics Dream Wear mask

Post by bob007 » Wed Apr 20, 2016 1:45 pm

Hi,

I've search here several times and can't seem to find the answer to my question.

I'm moving from the Resmed Nasal Pillows to a Philips Respironics Dream Wear mask. On a Resmed S10, what is the correct setting for the Dream Wear mask, "pillows" or "nasal". The Dream Wear is a hybrid between the two, but I'd like to set the machine correctly. I can't find documentation on this specific question on the Philips site so far, so any help would be appreciated.

I have left it on "pillow" and it seemed to be working fine. I did try setting it on "nasal" last night and I believe I had more leaks than previous, but I haven't verified that with data...it just seemed to be leaking more during the night and waking me up.

Thanks,

Bob

Do you have an APAP?

To your question, I've never heard of such a thing as a setting from nasal pillows to what-ever.
I'd be interested to read what you find out.

I believe the machine setting has a slight affect on the leak calculation. It would have absolutely no affect on the actual mask leaks.

there's more evidence to suggest that the resmed mask setting is their version of what respironics copied with the system one resistance settings.
