Re: NEW ResMed AirFit F30i full face mask

I uploaded the only copy of my prescription to CPAP.com when I ordered my F30i. This is the first time I have ordered from CPAP.com that required proof of prescription. Previously, I ordered replacement parts or accessories which didn't require a prescription. Yesterday, they sent me an email rejecting my order because my prescription had "expired" (dated April 19 2018 when I first got diagnosed & visited my first DME). I was disappointed, and decided that I could wait until my DME gets them in stock or I could call the sleep clinic to see how I could get a new prescription. But then I realized that I had to have a valid prescription if I am being sent supplies on a regular basis & Tricare is paying for 80%. Today, I received an email from CPAP.com apologizing for the original email & stating my prescription was valid, and my mask has shipped. They must have contacted my sleep clinic and verified that I was currently assigned a DME & receiving supplies. As far as knowing what size I needed, I have always been a small frame/small cushion size for all the masks I've tried, Dreamwear FF & Nasal, F20, Mirage Quattro, F30 and N30i, so I chose small for the F30i. Still, I would have preferred a fit pack. I can always order a medium cushion separately if needed, but the small should be fine if it is the same as the F30. Really looking forward to trying it.

I'm interested to hear feedback from the early testers. Out of nowhere I'm struggling with keeping my mouth closed for a few periods every night. At least I'm pretty sure that is the case. Large leaks plus dry mouth. So...going to try chin strap and/or full face.

So is cpap.com starting to enforce prescription dates. I thought it was only insurance companies that cared about that stuff.

They have always enforced prescription dates if there is an expiration date on it.
So it just depends on the wording and if a specific expiration date is mentioned.

My prescription specifically says "lifetime requirement for use". Perhaps CPAP.com re-read the prescription & found that phrase . I admit, the verbiage is in very tiny print! But I am glad they went to the effort of reviewing my prescription verbiage again or reaching out to my sleep clinic, whatever it took to change their mind. So, my prescription definitely has no expiration date. I would think most prescriptions don't expire. I don't know of any issues where CPAP therapy would be temporary, but I admit I don't know everything.

I am thinking someone probably initially just misread your RX and then someone later caught it. Might have been the same person or might have been someone else. Might have just been a new employee error too.

just received my F30i in the mail from CPAP.com. Wow! that was fast! & I paid for SLOW shipping! It has been cleaned & is sitting on the counter on a towel to dry overnight. I always wash my new equipment before using it. I know I don't have to, but I do. Can't wait to try it tomorrow night! I did put it on my face briefly to make sure the small frame/cushion would fit. it does. I was hoping it would be the same cushion style as the F30. IT IS! Really really excited to go without a chin strap tomorrow night with my mouth hanging open as wide as it wants to. (Chin strap didn't work all that well anyway). I found the F30 extremely comfortable, (just had the hose in the wrong place in my opinion). So the F30i should be JUST as comfortable . I truly believe there is the perfect "forever" mask out there for everyone, but it might not have been invented yet. I believe my forever mask has finally arrived.

I wanted to update my profile to reflect the F30i mask but it is not an option yet. Guess the mask is too new for it to be on the list

Look down in the R's....they stuck ResMed on it as first wording so it is down in the R's instead of the A's.

Has anyone tried the wide cushion yet? On the regular F30, the small and medium cushions are too "snug" on my nose and it ends up hurting after a while.

trying it out for the first time tonight. I haven't been this excited with any of my previous masks. When Resmed made the N30i & P30i, I KNEW the F30i would be NEXT. I was CRUSHED when the next new mask was the N30. But ... I SUSPECTED the F30i couldn't be too far away.... YEA!!!

Crossing my fingers that this will hold up to your expectations.
I expect it will. You are like me and have a real good grasp on what your own preferences, wants and needs are and usually have a decent idea what to expect.
I still haven't even tried the P30i. I need to modify the frame a bit first with some padding and with the BPPV crap messing with me...experimenting with a new mask is the last thing on my to do list. I will get around to it one of these days but since I know the Bleep won't be unseated....I am in no rush.

lol! actually the shipping was FREE I wasn't REALLY complaining that it came too fast! BTW, last night was WONDERFUL! Best night sleep I have had since being diagnosed. During my sleep study, the technician ASSURED me that once I start CPAP therapy, I would be bouncing off the walls, super hyper, ready to take on the world! He also promised weight loss. Didn't happen. I have been waiting nearly 3 years for me to feel that energetic and the weight is not coming off like magic. I realize I also have add diet & exercise. This morning was the FIRST TIME I felt super energetic & ready to take on the world. Maybe now I will have enough energy to increase my activity. I had several dreams! I don't remember when the last time was that I actually had dreams. The F30i fit me perfectly, and did not budge no matter how much flopping & spinning I did. Ready to stop trying different masks. I found THE ONE!
