Bleep and hose management

Post by rdfry » Sat May 08, 2021 10:08 am

Tried out the Bleep last night and the heavier s10 heated hose was pulling too much on the mask. Ended up with leaks and would appreciate your advise.

The adhesive seems to be able to take quite a lot of abuse. If I thrash around too much parts of the tubing will come apart before it comes off my face. That doesn't happen a lot any more.

What's your prep work like before you apply the ports? It needs to feel really secure on your nose and face before you hook up.

Stuart is a big believer in using a hose management system. Seems to help lots of people.
Me...never needed it and I use a heated hose.

Do make sure your skin prep is pristine....least little sweat or oils will cause the adhesive to come loose and the mask leak like crazy...no matter what hose you are using or hose management system use or not.

I'm finding that the Houdini hose lift works well with the Bleep. I have a terrycloth cover on the hose, which helps keep it in place in the loop that suspends the hose. It's important to have the newer Bleep, which has a longer, more flexible short hose.

I use witch hazel to wipe around my nose and cheeks. Turns out I wasn't getting the ports completely seated. No leaks last night. Need to figure out away to keep the heated hose from dropping in between the nightstand and the bed. That kept waking me up. My wife thought about wrapping a rubber band around the hose and pinning it to the mattress. Thank you for your help.

I run mine through the headboard and under my pillow to keep it from falling. It comes out the side of my pillow and loops onto my face like a proper alien tentacle. This way it vanishes when you make the bed.

3M makes cord containers that help if adhered to head board. I wrecked heated cord and was given what looks to b disposable hose until I can reorder in June. Lightweight and PERFECT. Going to see if I can use all the time. Cord problems? Who has cord problems!😂

Here's a youtube video where Stuart shows the best way to apply the bleep and the hose management system he uses. I use exactly this system and it works great.

I also use Stuart's exact system. After re-watching the video, I have to admit that my setup doesn't work quite as well as Stuart's does in the video, but it works really well for me nonetheless.

I had only used Bleep a few times before I got Stuart's hose management system. Before I got it, I couldn't stand how the hose pulled on my nose and I didn't think I'd ever get used to it.

But then the hose management system made all the difference for me with no more to very minimum pulling on the nose. Now, I really don't notice the hose at all, which I didn't think was possible.

I, too, use Stuart's system. It works great! I had used Cozy Hose Boss before we replaced our bed (the upholstered headboard made for too far a reach) but the parts in combination are perfect and as barney999 says, most of the time, I don't notice the hose at all, which is great. Especially as I am a restless sleeper...even turning from side to side all night I don't get all tangled up. Pre-system (and pre-Bleep), I sometimes woke because I had a hose wrapped around my neck

Again I appreciate everyone's response. I emailed Stuart who provided me the essential info that I needed. He responds almost immediately. I just ordered a Houdini lift which I will give a go. Thanks to you all.
