The vaccine is SOOO liberating.

Gramps and I went to a party this past weekend. About 30 people - everyone was vaxxed, even the ones in their twenties. Great times again.

Went to lunch yesterday with nine girls - all vaxxed. We sat crammed together at one table for two hours and had a great time. It's so good to have an in-person social life again.

One of my grandsons told me about a party he went to. The host required everyone to be vaxxed. One woman called and asked to come despite not being vaxxed. The host told her she would be welcome once she was vaxxed. She stayed home and her vaxxed husband came.

Just some anecdotes, but they illustrate how liberating vaccines are.

What would you have done if some had not been vaxxed? That's the dilemma I face with some of my family members who refuse to get the shot.

this is, indeed, good news for you! i know you've said in the past that you are an extrovert and this pandemic was really getting you down.

most of our family is spread out, requiring air travel to get to them. so it's going to be awhile before we're back to visiting again.

(though, one is currently vacationing in hawaii. unless she swam there, she's comfortable on airplanes!)
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

I've been going to one of my coffee clubs where three people aren't vaxxed. I keep my distance from them even though I think the vax is giving me great protection. There are three others in this group who had bad cases of COVID and haven't been vaxxed. I think they are well protected from reinfection for some unknown period of time. There is one person who had a mild case and hasn't been vaxxed. I'm going to warn her that the mild cases are subject to reinfection and she should be vaxxed.

For here, it's not just the vaccine that is giving me confidence. The case rate has fallen to a low level and the vaxx rate is high. One of the hospital doctors reported on local TV that all the patients in the COVID ward were unvaxxed. I'm not going to say they deserve it. Even stupid people shouldn't have to suffer. Just don't spread their stupidity around.

I agree...hubby and I went to a restaurant for lunch earlier this week for the first time since Feb 2020! Very exciting.

We are looking forward to dinner out for our 41st wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks...with friends to boot!
