Mouth taping and less pressure…
Mouth taping and less pressure…
I breathe through my mouth and find mouth taping helps a lot. It seems like I require less pressure when I tape my mouth. Seems to make sense because it is a closed system and there is no air escaping, so less pressure is needed. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Re: Mouth taping and less pressure…
The lower jawbone is attached to the temporal bones at the two joints of the jaw, allowing it to move. When the mouth opens, the lower jawbone moves somewhat like a swing. When it "swings", it moves a bit backward. This backward movement tends to narrow the airway. With a narrower airway, more pressure may be required. When you tape your lips closed, the situation described is avoided.

I can still operate my jaw with my “lips sealed”. I do it all the time when eating.
