Considering Using CBD Gummies
Considering Using CBD Gummies
Hi all - I am considering using CBD gummies to help me sleep through the night. I am new to CPAP - been using my machine for a little over 2 weeks. Every night is the same. I stir after 2 hours and can’t get back to sleep so I take off the mask. When I wake up again I put the mask back on and sleep for another 2 hours and take the mask off again for the rest of the night. I can only get in roughly 4 hours with the mask on. Has anyone else tried CBD gummies to get you through the night with the mask on the whole time?

I don't know about how well CBD will help you sleep, but your experience with CPAP is not unique.
A large number of us went through the same process while acclimating to CPAP. Some take to it right away, others days, weeks or even months,

<raises hand> yup started about a year ago. I still wake up during the night but only maybe 2x per night. be sure to talk to whoever your supplier is to get what you need. CBD has different "shades" and might not work for you.
oh and by the way, the mask removal is a separate issue. think of it this way-your brain is screaming at you that there is an alien on your face and it's trying to kill you. I would recommend that you condition your brain into accepting this new normal by wearing the mask while doing something mundane. read a book. do household chores. listen to music. eventually your brain will stop all its fussing and you'll be able to keep the mask on all night.
good luck!

Have you used these gummies in the past? Do they make you sleepy? Be sure to use indicia gummies, they'll make you (in general) sleepier than sativa gummies.Valygal wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 8:59 amHi all - I am considering using CBD gummies to help me sleep through the night. Sometimes drugs are needed. But with long-term use or
constant use, they all alter the quality of our sleep, and rarely for the good.

I take a cbd gelcap from Sunsoil.com every morning. there is an extremely low amount of THC in these and they are tested in a lab. If you have drug testing at work, I don’t recommend that you use them. you wouldn’t want to throw a false positive for marijuana and have it cost your job.Valygal wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 8:59 amHi all - I am considering using CBD gummies to help me sleep through the night. That said I take mine in the morning and I don’t feel as if it makes me tired at all.
What I have found to be even more helpful has been taking 250 and 400 mg magnesium before bed. there is emerging evidence to support the use of magnesium at bedtime for sleep.
on occasion I also take a homeopathic remedy called bach flower sleep melts. It does not always do the trick, but I find it helps more often than not to take one. I cannot speak to whether the drops or the spray work as well, and one of the other bach flower remedies has melatonin which I don’t like to take. I get these on amazon tho you may find them elsewhere.
Here is my Asterix-ask your doctor if it’s safe to take any of these products with whatever other conditions or meds you have.

Take ambien. I know that officially - Apnea is contraindication.
Yet ,a lot of OSA patients have "low arousal treshold" as a cause of sleep apnea. Long story short, I found out that I am one of them. My neurologist that treats osa and narcoleptic patients, gave me ambien to increase arousal treshold.
And voila - my residual AHI is now 2-3 instead of 5-6 (on constant pressure of 9cm and EPR off).
At worst - you will sleep on it with AHI unchanged. It is not myorelaxant so no real danger for OSA affected people. However, please consult doctor - I cannot bear responsibility for this, but I can give some directions.

This is normal for a newbie.
Don't waste your money and time on any of the stuff* people recommend. Spend your effort studying "good sleep hygiene" and learning to practice it.
