Airsense 11 humidifier not heating

Post by ILoveFlowers » Wed Oct 09, 2024 12:21 pm

Hello guys, I would appreciate any tips or advice you can give me.

My Airsense 11 for Her, purchased 3 years ago, is no longer heating the humidifier.

For the last couple weeks I've been having very dry nose and sinuses, and continual nosebleeds. Then yesterday I realized that the water level in the humidifier is not seeming to change and I put 2 and 2 together. So last night I kept checking the machine and found that the humidifier remained cold all night. I have it set to 4. I fooled with the machine, plugged everything in and out, made sure everything is plugged in well (it was), humidifier was pushed in all the way, and I went over all the settings. Still no joy, I could not get it to work. I don't use a heated hose.

I checked into getting it serviced. Cpap.com only handles service for the first 2 years, gave me Resmed's number. Resmed doesn't service them either, they referred me to a service company called Altra. Looks like they are in Ocala, FL, hopefully not in the hurricane's path. Has anyone used them?

I can't sleep at all without my cpap and it's going to be hard to send it in for service. I don't have a backup machine anymore since the Respironics recall. The prices on the new machines are about twice what I paid 3 years ago! And repairs are not cheap. I don't have insurance to help with any of this and this is really hitting me at a bad, bad time. I'm really stressing right now. What are my options? The Airsense 10 is a little bit cheaper, would I notice much difference between it and my current machine? Is 3 years normal service life for these machines? I can't afford that.

There really is no reason to go with the Air 11.

....

Since releasing the Air 11, in the few years of the 11, it has received more complaints than the 10's 10 year history.
  • louder
  • lack of accessories
  • leaky hose attachment flaw
  • heating system errors
  • smaller tank, that goes through water faster
  • no swivel on the hose
  • SD card seating issues

Until you can get the humidifier issue resolved, put Ayr Gel Saline in your nostrils just before bedtime. You may want to use it again upon morning arising. https://www.cvs.com/shop/ayr-saline-nas ... rodid-6213

Keep tabs on this thread. Someone will come along soon with more recommendations.

I checked into getting it serviced.
if you decide on repair, try these guys-
https://acbio.com/

but I see you don't have a backup, so that would be at least a week without it.

I'd go with the machine that granny recommended.

good luck!

Thanks, Chicago Granny. That helps so much, I'm going to go with the 10.
I am going through the nasal gel in a hurry! I was thinking it was just the dry weather of fall and I totally missed the cpap problem.

Thanks, Zonker! I think I just lucked out. They just sent out a notice of Prime Days sale at cpap.com and the price of the Airsense 10 went down $240. How is that for timing. It's still a lot of money but I'm going to bite the bullet because the rest of my life will go downhill without sleep. This one has got to last me longer than 3 years. I am so surprised at that.

ACBIO looks good, thanks for the recommend. I will get the other fixed as a backup but I can take some time. Whew.
