Ramp test

Post by Jdougc74 » Sat Dec 07, 2024 10:58 am

I was wondering, I want to try a 45 minute ramp on a ResMed AirSense 11 using APAP with tight limits, 10.8 - 11.2 as a test. I would use my minimum pressure setting during this ramp time. EPR would be set to 1 full time. These settings seem to minimize leaks and my arousals. I use the P10 pillow and mouth tape and use a soft cervical collar. I am strictly a side sleeper.
Is there anything besides the FOT pulse that would be missing? Not expecting any therapy pressure changes either during the ramp.

If you want to use a range that tight, why not turn ramp off and just use max = min = 11 (or 10.8)?

Miss Emerita,
Thanks for the reply, this is just a test to see if the lack FOT pulse might help me fall asleep, possibly after an awakening and I turn off the unit briefly. I wouldn't want any other problems, so I was asking if there might be something else I was missing with using a long ramp. There were some past discussions about the FOT pulses.

Some patients love the ramp. I hate it!

However, it it helps you; by all means.

If you're not getting any benefit, I suggest turning it off.

As I recall, Resmed machines don't record any events when the ramp is in effect.
