For most of the last three or four months my AHI was hovering around one.
Last week I got a foot rebuild (John's surgery Adventure) and am now living in a skilled nursing facility with only one functional foot. Of course I have had many adventures moving my trusty M-series around but am now getting concerned that I am now getting much higher AHI's in the 3-5 range. The all seem to come from OA's
Could this be due to the surgery and anasthesia ?
Or maybe the pain pills I am taking?
But more importantly is there anything I need to do about it?
Physical tiredness is not apparent as I am lying in bed most of the time and I seem to be able to exercise OK.
Would it be wise to do an autotitrate?
Call my sleep clinic ?
Or just wait until it get more serious?
I am having a ball in bed. I am writing software designed to help figure out how the data is laid out on a Smart Card. Phil has devloped a capability of reading Smart Cards, James know how to plot it once we get it off the Smart Card so all that is left is to understand how to undo the card.
I am working in Visual Basic and Acess and if anoyone wants to collobrate with me, I would love it.

If I were a betting man, I would put my money on the pain medication. Good luck with the healing, recovery and rehab (and your software project). I am totally inept at VB, but keenly interested in the project.
I don't think an asymptomatic AHI of 5 warrants another titration, but that's my opinion.
Good Luck.

from the medication, causes you to relax more, allows more apnea to occur.
I wouldn't worry about it, if your machine is in the Auto mode it should adjust pressure automatically to take care of them.
Or you could bump up your minimum pressure by 1 cm.
But a AHI of 3-5 while taking medication is nothing to worry about.
Note: Foot surgery does nothing to cure or treat your OSA.

John that sounds like fun writing the program. I sure miss programing. I need to repurchase Visual Studio... Stupid thieves... Besides it would be about time to upgrade anyway. Though I see Visual Studio 2008 is in Beta for download, might download after I get my new desktop put together. Of course I'm sure I'm not up to your level even if I had the Development tools. I'm so behind times.
Good luck on the program, I can't wait to see what you come up with.
