Remstar Auto w/cflex problem

Post by hairnet » Sun Dec 16, 2007 10:02 am

I have been using a Remstar Auto w/cflex for about 2 years. Last night I had a new problem. The alarm started beeping but I could not turn the machine (airflow) off. When I pushed the off button nothing happened. I unplugged the machine and then restarted it only to have it happen again about an hour later. The first time I was asleep but the second time I was not. I again unplugged it and just kept if off for the rest of the night. I did not think to look at the screen to see if there was any message. My smart card shows no unusual events. Can anyone give me any help. Thanks.

This is typical of a problem with the seating of the smart card. If you would have pulled the smart card out of the slot and then waited a few seconds and re-inserted it, that would have taken care of it, too.
I imagine all the lights were blinking/flashing as it was beeping too?

Ask me how I know..... Has usually happened to me as I'm getting into a deep sleep.
If it happens again and pushing the power button doesn't shut it off, try pulling the smart card out.....it'll usually stop beeping at that point.....and then re-insert the card (doesn't seem to hurt anything even if it's still running).

I should have mentioned that it's only happened to me maybe 3 times over the course of almost three years. So, it's not like it will probably happen again very soon (we'll hope). Fortunately, the last time it happened to me, I had enough presence of mind to pull the card out after pushing the On/Off button had no effect. The first time or two that it happened, I did the same thing that you did.....unplugged it (and maybe eventually pulled the card out, too).
