lasik and mask problem

Post by bratt1221 » Tue Mar 17, 2009 2:51 pm

I had Lasik eye surgery and use the comfort gel face mask, the leaks are killing my eyes making them very dry.I also can not watch tv or sleep comfortably on my side. Any suggestions??

I posted about the exact same thing a while back. I'm still struggling with that problem. I was using Genteal gel in my eyes before I went to bed, but then it just crusted over my eyes in a few hours. Then I switched masks (I have 4) and could use a sleep mask with one and that helped the eye issue, but the mask rains in my nose (tried all kinds of things for that, too). I also used eye patches with my Quattro FFM, and that works fine except OUCH taking them offi in the am!!

I have severe dry eye from my Lasik, and I use Restasis, but still have the nightime issues. So I'll see what others say about it.

Good luck. You will surely get lots of links to posts about masks leaking in eyes, as it seems a lot of people have the same issue, only it's worse if you have severely dry eyes!

I have also had lasik and dry eyes with xPAP is an issue for me. Genteal or Optive eye drops help me a lot...I use them 2-3 times a day in addition to right before putting on my mask at night. I have also found that Remzzzs cloth liners help with leaks into my eyes. They're kinda pricey, but worth it to me. They tell you to use one each night by I have found I can use them for three or four nights before they get too stretched out. http://www.remzzzs.com
