Ayr gel vs. Laniosh?

Post by brucelegs » Wed Jun 24, 2009 7:36 am

I was a faithful user of Laniosh with my Swift LT until I left my tube up at our camp last week. I went t the store to get another tube but they were out so I picked up the Ayr gel as a last resort. While my leak rates were very low with the Laniosh (avg of .02) with the Ayr gel the last 3 nights I am actually at 0.00 leak. They Ayr is also not as "greasy" like the Laniosh is when it "melts". What is your experience?

I also prefer the Ayr Gel. It is less "greasy" when it goes on than the Lanolin for me as well.

I have used both but Ayr Gel works better for me with nasal pillows.

I haven't tried the laniosh. I tried the Ayr gel and it just felt like my nose was slimy and I had a MUCH harder time getting a halfway decent seal. If the laniosh is worse, I guess I better leave well enough alone!

I prefer Lanisoh - Ayr gel was sloppy and dripped out of my nose, & it dried up sooner than I wanted it to. I use a drop of Lanisoh on a q-tip, apply it to inside of nares. It doesn't desert me in the middle of the night.

I have used both of them for two reasons, one for a better seal. The other reason is that I have bone-dry nares and when I used Ary, the moisture didn't last thru the night. I found with Lanisoh that you have to use a small amount on the q-tip and twirl it round the sides of your nares. Because it lasts thru the night - it helps with seal and my nares are in better condition.

Using one of these products is kinda like choosing a mask - try them both and choose the one that works best for you.
