I will start a separate post next time. Thanks for the support. As for your questions, I was told that I don't "stop breathing" which is to say I have what he called very mild apnea. I am not old so it is likely this will get worse he says, not better. Makes sense. CPAP make me VERY claustrophobic!! Doctor admits surgery is very painful and not 100% effective. So I am at a loss. I sleep fine, not tired during the day, sleep same hours every night--approx midnight to 7 am.

So that is that. the study was probably somewhat inaccurate as I only slept about 2 hrs. Worst night of sleep in years for me.

Thanks again. The past is the past...

I would avoid Devon as well for an oximeter. I purchased their PC-68B but am still after a few months of emailing them trying to get the latest version of the software (1.6).

The best way to inspire people to superior performance is to convince them by everything you do and by your everyday attitude that you are wholeheartedly supporting them.

I've been very pleased with my CMS-50D+ from Southeast Medical Supply. $100. Downloads to your computer in the morning. Make sure it's the 50D+ not the 50 D. There was a 2-3 of us that got the instant read instead of the recording one. They were real good about swapping it out!! Great Cust Svc. http://www.semedicalsupply.com/cms-50d_plus.htm

Hi, all

Forgive me if this has been posted elsewhere here (though I searched the forum and didn't find it).

In 2008, those of us who were in the market for an oximeter either ordered one from Med1Online or nearly did so. Some of us had horrible customer service with them, and their employee "Julie" joined this forum to monitor our discussions.

You may be interested to learn that Med1online went out of business. This brief letter appeared at their website for a while, until the website disappeared:
MED1ONLINE4403 Table Mountain Drive, Suite BGolden, Colorado 80403
April 10, 2009

To our creditors:
We regret to inform you that Med1Online (the “Company”) will be terminating its operations on April 10, 2009. Due to poorer than expected financial results, coupled with the challenging state of the economy, the Company was unable to repay its secured indebtedness– in excess of $4 Million – to its lender, Colorado State Bank and Trust, N.A. (“CSB”), upon maturity. CSB holds a blanket lien on the Company's tangible assets. The Company has been unsuccessful in its intensive efforts to devise ways to generate the necessary cash flow to pay CSB or to restructure the payment obligations.
The Company expects that CSB will foreclose upon its security interest in, or exercise other rights with respect to, the Company’s assets and will be left with a substantial deficiency.
Sincerely,
Management
Prior to their bankruptcy, complaintsboard.com was accumulating many complaints from customers like us as well as health care providers who never received the equipment they ordered and paid for, or who received broken equipment that med1online did not replace. A common sentiment was that med1line was intentionally scamming its customers, rather than merely providing incompetent customer service. The oximeter they shipped me had a broken battery cover, it still worked but I spent almost $400 for what I thought was a "new" product, and they never got around to replacing it.

Unfortunately, their bankruptcy means huge losses for the customers who never received their orders, the 120 employees who lost their jobs, and the bank to whom they owed over $4 million.

I wonder what they do with patients on a liquid oxygen system that want a helios(portable that pulses out oxyen everytime you take a breath)? Because there just taint no way they could allow the the client to have one without checking their pulse ox while on the helios the first time. Heh I bet they dont have the helios system available because they dont have a pulse-oxy meter
