Why not?..................Didn't your dentist ever tell you. Because of all the nasty things that live in the loo. What happens when you flush (you do have flush toilets down under don't you) ? All of those tiny water droplets are released to the air to find their way to your mask, toothbrush. comb, whatever happens to be available. Now you brush your teeth or put on your cpap mask and those little nastys now reside in your nose.
You could get a composting toilet. But that has its own problems.

Saves water too !

"but microbiologists have found that flushing spreads water droplets all over the bathroom surfaces. These drops have been found to contain E coli bacteria that survive for about four hours"

Hopefully this wonderful Forum brought to us by the great folks at Cpap.com (and by the way ...paid for too) is not a reflection of today's "In Your Face" mentality. Hopefully this "back and forth" jousting is all in good fun. Although I have noticed a few posts that come close to crossing the line..........BUT HEY I don't make that line !!! so Good day to all
With regards to cleaning our equipment. hummmmmmm Just clean it !!

I don't know...it just seems like a clean hose is the way to go. I personally think women are more attracted to a clean hose.
Seriously, I don't use a heated humidifer, but I do use the water tank. That means that air is passing over the water and picking up minute droplets of water...some of which make it to my nose and nasal passages to keep them from drying out. Other minute droplets must then adhere to the inner hose, and if so, as with any repeated moisture area, will become stagnant and moldy, which will eventually cause odar and pass bacteria to my nasal passage.
Call me OCD...but I'm still cleaning my hose out every week. A man (and woman, too) should get their hose cleaned every once and awhile...it's just good for the soul!

Hey Jean,
bozmon said it not me!
I just thought if he chooses to have such fantacies he might not want to follow my no-wash hose recommendation.
Hey bozmon, Ashley Simpson might have been better. You do want your mask to be able to lip-sinc with your face.

Cleaning CPAP hoses
I like to keep my CPAP hose clean. I hope there's nothing wrong with using kerosene...?
