I have not slept well for decades. Before CPAP I'd wake around 4 am and be awake for hours, often mana aging to fall asleep
Right before my alarm went off.
With CPAP I still wake around that time, but the difference is that I can go right back to sleep.
Recently my husband used some insurance settlement money to buy a nice far infrared sauna. It really helps his pain levels since he can't seem to tolerate any pain medications. I've been using the sauna, too. I didn't think I'd like it, but I love it. And one of the best things is that I sleep so much better after a sauna. I feel like I sleep more deeply and I don't have the usual 4 am wake up. When I do wake in the morning I feel calmer and more refreshed. It's easier for me to go to sleep earlier, too. Usually it takes me quite a while to get myself ready to go to sleep. I'm pleasantly surprised as this was not something I expected.
i know that a home sauna isn't accessible for everyone, but it's something to consider if you have the means.

Getting fully relaxed just before going to bed does often result in better sleep. A hot bath, warm milk, or even meditation can provide similar results.
One of the physical effects of going to sleep is a drop in the body temperature. A sauna or a hot bath immediately before going to bed simulates this effect and can be helpful.

Strange but a hot bath, sauna or steam wakes me up. I never take hot baths in the evening though I love them. If I do I am wired until the small hours of the morning. The kid was the same way - no baths before bedtime if I expected her to sleep anytime soon.

I have found heat is useful it help pain, I roast myself with a electric blanket, it helps, but then I get too hot. After a couple of hours I find the setting I need or turn it off. They need to be a little smarter in temp regulation, too slow to heat up, then they cook you. Jim
