Mouth wash to clean masks?
Mouth wash to clean masks?
I just received an Oracle mask I ordered from YouNeedSleep.com. (1/2 price, such a deal!). I will only use this for when I have a cold, but my question concerns cleaning. I noticed in the instructions that it says to add a cap full of "antiseptic mouth wash" to 30 oz. of water and soak for 10 minutes. Since the mask seems to be made largely of pliable silicon, I wonder if dilute mouthwash would make a good cleaning solution for other masks as well? It would save carrying a another liquid when flying if I could use mouthwash and leave the baby shampoo at home. Also, many hotels provide a bottle of mouthwash (I know I can't use their shampoos since they often contain a conditioner).
Any thoughts?

Getting old doesn't make you 'forgetful'. Having too damn many things to remember makes you 'forgetful'.
since that interface goes in the mouth, use the same thing as for dentures, use Polident tablets, you can soak it during the day and rinse clean. You can get a special denture tooth brush where you buy tooth brushes and brush it lightly. If it won't harm dentures it should be good for your oral interface.
Polident once a week should also keep it from turning yellow.

I have been using Walgreens Brand Mouthwash for some time now and it works very well. I clean with it at least 1 a week and then rinse out the tubes and mask with water and allow them to dry. It smells great and if there was alcohol it evaporates by the time I get to putting it on. It takes very little to clean a tube/reservoir/mask.

I just use Dawn and hot water. If it is good for my dishes, . . .
Since my P10 was starting to feel cloggy, I cleaned the screens with my Panasonic oral irrigator.,
and (somehow) got water specks all over my glasses.
No residual smell, and it felt like NEW.

Three words of advice... dishsoap and water.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Hmmm, I've got an Interplak oral irrigator and think I'll try that suggestion on my F10 mask outlet vents. It's a German designed Waterpik type device and much better than the rest of the brands I've tried. My old one lasted over a decade using it mainly on my teeth.chunkyfrog wrote:Since my P10 was starting to feel cloggy, I cleaned the screens with my Panasonic oral irrigator.
