Reason for condensation under mask? Help please

Post by 1speechpick » Tue Jun 29, 2021 8:12 am

Last night I tried the Resmed Airfit N20 nasal (cup) mask. I found it extremely comfortable, however, I woke up with a significant amount of water on my nose this morning. I also have Resmed Airsense for Her, pressure 6, humidity 5, tube temp 76 degrees Fahrenheit. There didn't seem to be significant amount of water in the tube.

What would cause the condensation on my face (under the mask)?

  1. The humid air is condensing within the mask. Condensation forms because warm humid air comes into contact with cooler surfaces. The surface of the mask is cooler
  2. The condensation may be coming from your exhaled breath.
  • Reduce the humidity
  • Increase hose temperature
  • Increase ambient temperature of bedroom
  • Insulate the N20 mask with a cover
