Hello everyone,
I've been grateful to just be a lurker after a whole issue last year worrying about anesthesia and whatnot. However, I knew the fun couldn't last for too long.
To try and keep a long story short: I'm one of several who got stuck with the whole Phillips DreamStation debacle. To get me a new machine my doctor had me tested again and saw I needed a Bilevel (BiPap) machine, so I got a Luna G3. I wish I found this place prior because it's a machine that leaves a lot to be desired. Moving forward nearly 2 years, my payment on the machine has increased to a point I cannot keep up payments. I realized I technically owned my DreamStation (and DreamStation 2) after doing a rent-to-own agreement with my insurance at the time. When I was switched to the Luna G3 I had some personal issues going on that it never occurred to me why I was still paying on it when I've had it longer than the DreamStation. Turns out the insurance puts me on a 13-month payment plan and every time I switch plans (thanks to the marketplace), then I'm essentially restarting the payment process all over again. To top that off, this year my insurance is covering a whole lot less than my previous plan did in the past. I've racked up nearly $1k in 7 months, and that's just what I owe, not what I've already paid. I can no longer afford this machine.
I was cleaning out my family's POD storage unit and I found my dad's AirSense 10 and AirCurve 10 that were completely paid for by his insurance about a few years ago. They haven't been used in about 2 years. I remember reading on here the AirCurve 10 is the preferred Bilevel (BiPap) machine of choice so I was just considering returning my Luna G3 and getting the settings dialed on my dad's machine to reflect what I need.
In order for a smooth transition to take place, what are the best cleaning requirements/protocols for cleaning a machine that has not been used in a while?
Model: ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV
Ref#: 37043
If the AirSense 10 won't be needed I would like to look into selling it. Is there advice/standard protocol on selling a used device?
Thank you in advanced!

So you have a Luna G3 BPAP 25A or 30VT? There are several models, not all bi-level.
Depends... how many hours? They're not hard to take apart... are you sure it needs cleaning? There are many disassembly videos on YT. I ran an Autoset for 22,500 hours and then replaced the motor and completely cleaned it... good for another 22khours!In order for a smooth transition to take place, what are the best cleaning requirements/protocols for cleaning a machine that has not been used in a while?
Depends on where you live. Near Austin where I live you see machines on Craigslist all the time. Ostensibly selling to someone without a prescription is illegal... the CPAP police have not nabbed me yet... I'm only buying, and I have a valid prescription of course. A good AS10 Autoset with <3000hours should bring 200$. That ASV should bring more like 1200$.Model: ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV

Your problem is that the ASV is probably not the machine for you. You're probably more of a vAuto person... you don't have complex apnea, Cheyne-Stokes breathing etc right? That ASV machine should fetch a pretty penny to the right person. Here's a new/used one:

You need to read the hours on each machine to get a better idea of what they're worth. If you're near Austin PM me.
