Hi, all: Without realizing it, I've spent the last month in a moleskin experiment. This began when someone on the live chat suggested using moleskin for raw spots on my cheekbones that are caused by my nasal mask. I guess it's my face shape.
I've been on CPAP for four months and prior to the use of moleskin had tried cleaning my face, creaming my face--didn't help, loosening my mask--caused leaks, altering the angle of the mask to the forehead...more leaking, and applying bandaids to the spots...helped but not entirely.
Anyway, I went out an purchased PediFix Gel Moleskin Protective Padding. Not only did this really work but it is washable and reusable (for about a week). When I ran out, I went back to the store and they didn't have the PediFix, so I bought the storebrand, figuring all moleskin is equal, right? Wrong!
The storebrand, which is very much like Dr. Scholl's I now discovered, is stiffer, can't be reused, and the adhesive just about took my skin off when I removed the patch. I guess this is fine for feet (you find moleskin in the feet care section) but it doesn't work on faces!
Not all moleskins are equal for sore spots

Mole skin is supposed to stick well. You should put it on the mask, not the skin. Putting the mole skin on the mask means you can leave it there for quite a while, saving $ by using less.
