I've been telling you they will eventually find out it causes every health problem.
Eve made eating that forbidden fruit popular. That fruit was the only soft food in the garden and it supplied a lot of calories with very little chewing. Jaws became underdeveloped and OSA became widely prevalent. That's my story and I am sticking with it.
Note this statistic in the article:
40 percent of the population with liver disease suffer from non-alcoholic liver disease

Damn OSA I am going to run hide in a corner and just wait to die from it!
Not, Hey everyone should be living and enjoying every day as if it were their last because you never know. I do what I can take one day at a time and try to enjoy it, have fun and make a difference in someone elses life.

Once again, another whacky post by Rooster, of the ilk of "Leisure Suits Cause Cancer." (Fernwood, back in the 1970's for the non-familiar). Rooster, you've truly lost it now.

Amen to that, Gerry! Sleep apnea or not, none of us are given any guarantees that we'll see tomorrow. Make the most of today!!!

Ah Fernwood... Source of many happy childhood memories for me. Like the night I asked my father "What's a prostitute?"
Poor man, I'm sure it led to additional beer drinking, which probably led to his death 30 some odd years later at the ripe old age of 72. (Kidding! He died of cancer.)
Cheers,
B.
I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.

Shame on you! LOLOLOLOL. Killing off your dad like that. Seriously, I remember asking my mother what oral sex was, and I was age 7. You can imagine the reaction.

It really WAS funny, Patrick. Remember Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, Will Ferrell, and all the others who were really good?

"Jane you ignorant slut..."
When I first had an ultrasound for my gallbladder, they noted a fatty liver (not too bad). Probably from being obese: 5'6", 205 lbs. Heavier when I was younger. My liver functions have always been good, with the exception that my Bilirubin was just slightly elevated recently. Mine was 1.4 and the max on the range was 1.2.
Sleep well and live better!

It kinda makes sense that OSA could indirectly cause cirrhosis for all those who need a nip or three to sleep all night.

It's going to be okay in the end; if it's not okay, it's not the end.

It's interesting, but so are a ton of research papers floating around. Just keep in mind that a) the study was done on mice, b) if you deprive any part of your body of 02 it will react badly, and 3) the upshot was that hypoxia MAY be a factor in the liver's demise. Well, this information and 10 cents is not something to panic over yet, is it?

This information does make some sense, but its always anyone's guess what casues a lot of things....mainly because several factors can cause any one disease. My dad died of cirrohosis and yes, he was an alcoholic. Here comes the tricky part of this info. The cirrohosis they are mainly referring to is not from alcoholism. Oddly enough, that is the type my dad had. So, being an alcoholic and probably having (OSA that was untreated) on top of that genetic factor surely increased that chance by 1000%. I'd say depriving the body of oxygen in that manner (OSA) will only lead to some kind of disease. The key is being informed and being proactive. Its a good point in OSA research and also adds to the public awareness level.
