Somnapure Natural Sleep Aid

Post by Java » Wed Jan 02, 2013 1:20 am

Has anyone tried the Natural Sleep aid Somnapure by Peak Life? It contains Lemon Balm, Melatonin, Hops, Valerian, Chamomile Flower, L-Theanine, and Passion Flower. I can usually fall asleep okay but my problem is I wake up every 2-3 hours. I'm looking for something to help me stay asleep. My sleep doctor refuses to give me prescription sleeping pills. I've heard the recent bad reviews of Melatonin, but I just need something to help me get some sleep. I am 100% compliant with my CPAP, my AHI average is <1 every night. I have been on CPAP for about 4 months now. I just need to find a way to fix my fragmented sleep. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions or any reviews if anyone has tried Somnapure. Thanks Much.

I have not tried that product. I remember you mentioning in another thread about having RLS - just wondering if either RLS or PLMD could be the cause of your frequent waking. Have you had things like your ferritin and magnesium levels checked? Maybe there's still some more natural ways help yourself sleep if there is something you are lacking. Identifying any lacking could make a difference for you.

Yes, I have horrible RLS but not really any PLMD. My legs only move because I tell them to move because I feel if I don't move them I will go crazy. It's just a horrid feeling, and I suppose it could be waking me up although I do not feel any RLS symptoms upon awakening. I always wake up on the same side and in the same position as I fell asleep in, so I am not doing much if any movement in my sleep. My ferritin was fine, and my magnesium was fine but in the lower range so my doctor but me on Slo-Mag just because he said it wouldn't hurt. I would just do anything to sleep through the night.

Valerian is pharmaceutically active. It is an herbal sedative. A consult with someone who understands dosage and drug interactions is well worth considering.

I used to take valerian more than I do nowadays. A few years ago I was just keeping it in a cabinet in the bathroom and it spoiled after a few months of warm weather. Whenever I took the spoiled valerian it gave me weird neurological problems. The problems went away when I bought a fresh jar and kept it in the fridge. I now always keep anything like valerian or other natural products in the fridge and frequently check the expiration date. BTW, minerals like potassium and magnesium don't require any refrigeration.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
