ResMed v. The Other One.......
I had a cpap machine for four months and suffered. Could not adjust. Had five (count 'em, five) masks provided by med equip. company that were not ResMed. I got changed to bipap with biflex and received a ResMed mask (Ultra Mirage Nasal Mask). I am now in compliance. I could breath with it and keep it on. My face didn't get welts. The seal worked. I could exhale finally. My chest did not feel caved in when I awakened. Youz guyz suggested Swift Nasal Pillows as a second mask also with good ventilation. I ordered it and received it and am relieved. I like it even better than the Mirage Nasal Mask, and that one does work for me. The expense was worth it. Thank you so much. I finally understand why patients look forward to sleeping with the equipment.

sharonious,
Great to hear!
You story is the exact reason some of us get a little over enthusiastic about promoting certain equipment. For many the equipment makes all the difference and getting a bad start can leave a "bad taste in your mouth" for a long time. I tried as hard as I could to learn about what was available and decide what would work best for me right from the start. I've changed masks several times and got a new machine, but only to make things better than they already were. Your story is a good example to everyone looking to be comfortable using cpap.
You said it all...I finally understand why patients look forward to sleeping with the equipment.

Another good news story that shows how important perseverence is.
Well done sharonius and thanks for sharing your success. Let's hope it inspires others to continue when things aren't going so well.
I know there have been long threads discussing this before, but surely there's an easier way for people to find the right mask
