Need some advice

Post by lmn » Fri Mar 18, 2005 3:00 pm

I have been using my resperonics auto for about two months now. I have the software that allows me to monitor my sleep. My question is this...I have my apap set at 13/7. Still have an AHI of 7.3 to 6.1 most of the time. Should not the AHI be getting lower? I read on the site about people getting their AHI down to 1 or 2. Any advise would be appreciated.

What is your titrated pressure? Those #s aren't bad but might be better if tweaked. Try starting at 2 below your titrated pressure . Keep records of what you did and how you feel . Adjust in small increments from there.
If your low is 7 might try going to 7.5 for a few days. The key is to make small adjustments and wait a few days. Remember your science class, only change one thing (variable) at a time. Don't get in a hurry. You are getting good treatment now. Perfection takes a bit longer.

Cheers,

Chris

Maybe we can all use a refresher on how to arrive at the AHI.

Some noobies and (some not so noobies) always can use a mini lesson.

thanks!

My titrated pressure was actually 5..which is way to low. Guess I did not sleep for the test..ofcourse I had gotten very good at not sleeping. My 90% for the past 2 months has been about 11. I have worked up the bottom pressure .5 at a time to 7..can't seem to breath with the mask on with pressure much lower. I will try to work it up somemore. Thanks

You seem to be heading in the right direction. Perhaps you need to raise it more and work it backwards.

Good luck,

Chris
