ResMed AirMini running on battery.

Post by JTM1977 » Mon Jul 29, 2024 1:15 pm

Why is my AirMini working on a Pilot24 battery but not on a Renogy battery?

I have a ResMed AirMini CPAP machine and can run it for about 1 and 1/2 nights directly connected to a Medistrom Pilot 24 battery. Wanting to extend that length of time, I purchased a 72000mah Renogy battery that I heard can run a CPAP for 3 to 5 nights on a single charge. The Renogy has a voltage configurable DC output port that is exactly the same as the port on the Pilot24 battery. I set the port to 24v and connect the Airmini directly. It seems to be running fine then in less than ten minutes it just shuts down. So I'm not understanding what's going wrong. Both batteries will run my older ResMed S9 just fine. Is there something finiky about the Airmini?

Summary:

Medistrom Pilot 24 direct connect DC 24v
ResMed Air Mini - Runs all night.
ResMed S9 - Runs all night.

Renogy 72000mAh direct connect DC 24v
ResMed Air Mini - Runs but shuts down in 5-10 minutes
ResMed S9 - Runs all night.

Thanks.
